... I am still scrapping Christmas! A very lucky Miss B, who doesn't really like toys, received an ipod touch from Santa. There was not much time for listening to music in the midst of the whirlwind that was our Christmas day... but there was lots of time to snap photos. So this is our Christmas through Bianca's eyes.

Glimpse...

My boy will be ten in four months. Double figures, it sort of does my head in at times. He is suddenly concerned with looking cool. Anything remotely babyish must be now banished. My baby boy is long gone and now I see my little boy fading away as well. But this is how he spent an afternoon last week. Despite the fact that he has a perfectly sized bike and scooter in the garage, he found his first scooter ever, a unused car booster seat and a roll of duct tape... and the end result was a "red car". His delight when his idea worked was contagious. He spent all afternoon scooting down the path and around the courtyard. I really love this photo... in it I can still see a glimpse of the little boy that has almost gone.

Our little bookworm...

She is never without a book. She appears in the morning with a pile of them. She stacks them beside her while she eats breakfast. Her bookshelf is overflowing. I find books stashed in every backpack or bag she owns, scattered in every room of the house. In the car, under her bed, in the unused doll's pram. The staff at our bookstore know her by name. The local librarian knows her by name... and this is how I find her most nights on my way to bed, sound asleep with her current favourite book.

My boy again...

It was around 6lb (or 2.75 kg)... the biggest fish he has ever caught, and on only the second day of the trout fishing season as well!
And why in Australia do we refer to the weight of infants and fish in pounds and everything else in kilos ?

Delight...
She can frustrate me to no end. I often don't understand her. I am sure she often doesn't understand me... but she makes me smile everyday. She loves me everyday. She delights me everyday.
